Yippie Jamie’s Strictly Rude PUNK/SKA Blog

WLVC has been shut down due to technical difficulties.  I apologize for that but someone messed with the setup and we’ll be down till after the holiday season.  On a good note as I’ve announced I’ve done my greatest accomplishment which is become a music business major here at LVC.  On another happy note me and Carmen are 2 of the 3 LVC Drum Majors for next year.  He’s 1, i’m 2, and Casey is three.  I’m so stoked, I miss being DM so much from high school.  I never thought I’d ever be good enough to be a college drum major but I am and i’m so stoked for next season.  I think I love Marching Band more than ne other punk, hippie, or rude boy has ever in their lives lol.

I’m sorry, i just love and live marching band.  My life is that and local shows.  Sorry about going away from the subject of why this blog is here but just wanted to let you know what’s going on in my life.  Happy Holidays from yours truly, Yippie Jamie.   Can’t wait to get back on air and play all the stuff others won’t.

Peace’N'Love

Today’s show went real well.  Have a new sidekick in Greg Kennelty.  He’s in terms my “illusionist.”  Referance to the Jason Ellis show there.  He fits in well and I think you all dig it as well.  We played a lot less music this week though due to some things that were important to talk about.  We also stayed an extra hour on air because I screwed up the Winamp automated player hitting something knocking it loose with headphone wire.
Today’s show was all about 3 things.  The dedication of the show to our friend Andy Goetz (Sunshine).  I’m not going into detail on what happened because most of you know and if you don’t please please please search facebook and join the group/the cause.  Search: Bring Sunshine Back to LVC, Free Andy Goetz.  Read the description and all the bulletins and a lot of the wall.  All will give you good information.

That was the main focus and probably talked about that for 40 minutes alone.  Other than that is was plugging our friends’ show, Dr. Dank and the Lunchbox (Wed. 11-12) because they are promoting the same things and are on board with the Andy Goetz cause.

Also another thing is NORML.  search that on facebook too.  If you don’t go to LVC join the worldwide group.  If at LVC join the the NORML LVC Chapter.  NORML stand for…  National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws.  Who cares if you smoke it or not.  Check it out and see what you think.  It is a good idea whether you do it or don’t.

For now on the show is dedicated to Andy as well as Dr. Dank and the Lunchbox’s show as well.

first show went well.  Good opener.  Hopefully we can get more listeners because I only maxed at 5.  Not bad for a first show since most only get 3.  Let’s get above 10 in the next 2 weeks and keep going up from there.  I have a goal to get above 20 eventually which will hopefully happen as the cold comes in.  So tune in before you go off to your parties and even turn it on to entertain at them.

This Friday coming up I will have a special guest who may become a regular on the show.  We’ll be talking about 2 shows that are happening this Saturday.  I shall be attending both of those shows.  One at Tuesday Tunes in Shamokin in which my local punk/ska band from my area will be playing and then i’ll be cutting out early to support our very own Double Entendre as well as see the legendary Casualties.  Mae and From First to Last will also be there with many more including Motionless in White in which come and play in my area quite often.

YO YO YO, I’m here on this station every friday from 9-10 to play everything that the media won’t play on the radio because it’s “not hip or cool enough.” You’ll being anything from 1st wave back to the days in Jamaica, to 2-tone when it was brought to Britain and today’s 2-tone/punk, all the way to today’s third wave ska in the U.S. That accompanied by punk of all kinds (hxc punk, political punk, party punk, pop punk, mainstream, underground, local indie punk, comedic, and even some religious punk….. none of that racist shit though). I’ll also tie in some reggae and classic rock that helped shape the way for the first punk rockers. I’m sure most of these bands you’ll be hearing you’ve never heard of, some you will though, but give them a listen and give them a chance. Other than music I’ll try and bring you some entertainment following in the steps of the Jason Ellis show (faction 28, sirius radio), youtube him sometime. Maybe stealing some of his idea like Dude is it Gay? spots. can’t do too much of that because of censorship but I’ll do what I can. I shall also try and spread some campus news and get some people in from local organizations and sports on too to give you heads up on events, activities, as well as shows around this area.

This is an hour to get some unsigned and mainstream artists more well known. An hour to give some laughs. An hour to say a certain word that begins with F followed by the word YOU to the man, the government. finally it is an hour to spread the belief of Peace, Love, and Unity.

All you Punks, Non-Racist Skinheads, Rude boys and girls keep it real and help me spread the message and get more people into our lifestyle, into our music, and into our dreams. Peace’N'Love always.
