WLVC had a great time at LVC LIVE this year. We met lots of awesome incoming students and had quite a few sign up and take information for WLVC! We hope to see many of you at our first meting next year. Any incoming freshmen who didn’t get to talk to us at LVC LIVE can check us out at the beginning of next semester at the Activities Fair. All the campus organizations will have tables out on the quad in front of the Mund College center with representatives eager to pique new students’ interests.

Cub Scout Visit!

Cub Scout Troop 453 led by our own Pam of the UG stopped by the radio station for a visit on Tuesday. They watched a show in progress and made some sweet CD art for the station. We want to thank them for stopping by. Everyone had a lot of fun. If you have a group that would like to tour the station, leave us a comment or send us an e-mail!

WLVC Site Changes

Hello to all, by now you have notices some changes to the WLVC site and I thought I should take a little time to go over them so you all know what they are and what the site can do now!

First lets start with the AIM Widget:

This nifty little widget let you talk to the DJ’s of WLVC without even signing into AIM. Just enter your name at the bottom and type away. If there is someone on the air, they will respond as soon as they can.

Next We have Google Friend Connect, or the reason for that sign in button at the top of the home page.

Once Signed in using a Gmail, Yahoo, or AIM account, you will see this at the top of the main page:

If you go to the “Get Involved” page, you can see the other members of the site and post comments and media such as YouTube embeds that you think other members may enjoy:

So there you go, Join up, support your DJs and help make WLVC a more social website.

Hey everyone, ryan here from the monday mixtape… just reminding you to tune in on mondays from 7-9 for a trip into the world that is alternative music… this week’s show will include a look at the wainwright family (loudon, rufus, and martha), a little neo-folk, and a touch of some early 90’s ska… requests can be sent into wlvcradio on aim… a new facebook group for fans of the show should be up within the next few days… take some time to join and tune in… talk to you over the airwaves!!

Ya-Way Radio

Hey all,

Wish there was a christian radio show on WLVC? Well even if you didn’t your getting one! Tuesdays at 9pm is Ya-Way radio. Although we are in the early planning stages we plan to play music, have disscussions about christ/bible verses, and Campus News. Listen in!

WLVC on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Finally you can listen to WLVC anywhere you get 3G or Wi-fi service (possible even Edge, but it spent a lot of time buffering when I tried it) on your iPhone or iPod touch! Now you can listen to all your favorite DJ’s anywhere, even record your favorite shows for later listening! Simply get the free app FStream (App Store Link) from the iTunes App Store and configure it like this:

Go to favorites once the app launches and click edit at the top of the screen, click add new station. When the dialog comes up, enter the following settings.

Hit “Save” and go to “More” at the bottom of the screen. To enable playback while not on a Wi-Fi network, enter the following settings:

There you go! now when you tap play and tap the name of the station, you can listen to WLVC where ever you are, you don’t even need to be near a computer!
